Lily’s Seafood & Brewery
Lily’s offers guests unbelievable seafood specialties paired with their innovative microbrews. Opening in 1999, Lily’s provides their guests with a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere, which includes numerous fish tanks throughout the restaurant. Enjoy signature dishes like the Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna, Calypso Crab cakes, Sweet & Spicy Creole Soup and Grandma Lily’s Crabby Stuffed Pork Chops.
Bastone Brewery
Opening in 2004, Bastone is named and styled after a famous Belgian city. The menu includes Belgian-style foods including favorites such as waterzooi, steamed mussels, pomme frites and more! Guests can enjoy their hand-crafted beers and their three other restaurants as well. They include Vinotecca, a trendy wine bar and eclectic food menu; Café Habana that features a Cuban-style menu and atmosphere. The last is Commune, which is a Parisian lounge and dance club all within the same building space.
Taste Love Cupcakes
Look no further for fulfilling your sweet tooth than Taste Love Cupcakes. Opening in 2011, they are winners of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars in April 2012! Their downtown shop offers daily flavors and early bird specials, but move fast because once they sell out they are closed for the day. Some flavors include sweet potato, red velvet, chocolate salted caramel, apple pie ala mode and pumpkin spice.
Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle
Mark Ridley opened the Comedy Castle in 1979 and stars like Tim Allen and Dave Coulier got their start there that year. Over the years they have hosted many stars during their early comedy careers, like Ellen DeGeneres, Jim Carrey, Drew Carey, Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld and more. This is a great place to go with friends and watch a show while enjoying their great menu and bar selections. The Comedy Castle offers a unique environment for attendees to enjoy. Detroit Zoo
The Detroit Zoo sits on 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits in Royal Oak. The Zoo is the largest paid family attraction in Michigan and is home to over 3,300 animals of 280 species. There are many attractions and exhibits that draw people to the Zoo. Their larger exhibits consist of the Arctic Ring of Life, Australian Outback Adventure, Great Apes of Harambee, National Conservation Center, Holden Reptile Conservation center, Penguinarium and Butterfly Garden. Royal Oak Music Theatre
The Royal Oak Music Theatre originally opened their doors in 1928 hosting live music and comedy. In 1978, Worldwide Entertainment, LLC took over and added off-Broadway theatre, musicals and dance productions. The Royal Oak Music Theatre is one of the most popular concert venues in Metro Detroit.
